Back-to-School Beauty Boosters

Polish up your natural beauty with a few little touches!

Sure, a simple slick of lip gloss is all you really need for school days, but when you want to look your best, subtle touches of makeup allow you to play up your best features without hiding your natural beauty. Emphasize your eyes. Bump up your lip color. Give your cheeks a glow. Shape and groom your brows. You don’t have to spend more than a couple of minutes to create one subtle change that gives your whole look and extra boost!
THE LOOK HOW TO GET IT WHAT YOU NEED
Natural lip shades are always appropriate, and add a little oomph, whether the rest of your face is naked or fully made up. For sheer color, choose a lip gloss in a shade that is just a little deeper than your natural lip color.

Extra Credit: For longer lasting color, apply a creamy lipstick then blot your lips with a tissue, leaving a stain of color. Top it off with a gloss.

Try Sally Girl Mini Lip Gloss Wands, the perfect little glosses to slip into a purse or pocket. Or, try one of the shimmering, natural Palladio Herbal Lipgloss shades. For enduring color, try Femme Couture Ultra Hydrating Lipstick.

A coat of mascara gives eyelashes added length, thickness and definition. Start near the lash base to create the longest lashes. Using a magnifying mirror can really help! To do away with clumps, use an eyelash comb after each coat of mascara.

Extra Credit: Open up your eyes, give your lashes flirty curl, and help prevent mascara from smudging by using an eyelash curler before applying mascara.

Try Palladio Lengthening Mascara,Palladio Thickening Mascara or smudge-proof Palladio Herbal Waterproof Mascara—all with a built-in eyelash comb. For easy eyelash curling, tryBeyond the Curl by B Beauté.

Eyeliner emphasizes eyes and so does a face-framing fringe of bangs. To create a smoky look, draw a soft pencil liner around the perimeter of your eyes and gently smudge it. Use classic black or try dusty green, deep blue or charcoal.

Extra Credit: For a more precise line, use a liquid eyeliner. Practice makes perfect, but if your hand is not steady, try drawing the line in small segments.

Try Beautique Eye Pencil; it has a fragrance-free, hypo allergenic formula and is available in a dozen shades including Black, Jade, Slate and Smoke. Use Sally Girl Mini Liquid Eyeliner to dramatically line and define eyes.

Shape your brows, but be careful not to over-tweeze. Follow your natural brow shape and tweeze any stray hairs. If your brows are very pale, or if you need to fill in sparse areas, add soft color with a brow pencil. For the perfect tip, sharpen it first with a cosmetic sharpener.

Extra Credit: If your brows are wild and unruly, tame them and keep them in place with an eyebrow gel or wax.

Try Tweezerette Tweezers if you’re on a budget, or Tweezerman Slant Tweezer if you can invest. Femme Couture Soft Powder Brow Pencilcomes in five natural shades. Palladio Herbal Brow Gel or Brow Couture Brow Grooming Wax for brow control.

Get glowing with a sweep of mineral blush across your cheeks and nose—anywhere the sun makes you rosy. Use a soft natural-bristle brush to apply blush.

Extra Credit: If you use foundation, try mineral makeup instead. It’s natural, weightless, sun protective and, best of all, provides luminous, skin-perfecting coverage. Mineral makeup won’t clog pores, so it’s safe to use, even on troubled skin.

Try Palladio Herbal Blush and apply it with the Palladio Blush Brush. For natural coverage that’s so pure you can even sleep in it, try Mineral Effects Mineral Makeup and apply it with the Mineral Effects Allover Face Brush.
